Overview

Functional Skills English Level 2 develops advanced reading, writing, and communication skills required for workplace roles, further study, and everyday life. This qualification is widely recognised as an alternative to GCSE English and supports career progression, apprenticeship entry, and higher education pathways.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. Learners usually complete Level 1 first, but motivated learners may enter Level 2 directly following an initial assessment.

Assessments focus on real-world skills needed for employment and further study.

Acceptable evidence includes:
